In an effort to document my journey through the process of my diagnosis of HFA (High Functioning Autism.. Apparently Asperger's Syndrome is passé) without continuing to bog down your News Feed with my random Aspie-esque novels I've been posting as of late, I've decided to start a new blog called The Alienati Report. I've decided I need an outlet for all my research and thoughts and things I wish to document so I don't go crazy over the next few months.
One in 68 people is on the autism spectrum, so statistically speaking, it's entirely possible that many people who might read this are living with some level of ASD whether you know it or not. Most of you probably know at least 68 people so odds are there is someone in your life who has ASD whether they know it or not. You can't quite put your finger on it or find an appropriate explanation. You just know you're different. You just that you're not "normal".
Reading articles written by other people, particularly other adult women, who have felt the same way and dealt with the same issues I'm currently experiencing has been incredibly invaluable. I would like to pay that forward by providing an additional resource for those of you out there who are in the process of having a cathartic awakening. Regardless of my own personal outcome when I finally get the results of my diagnosis in a few months, this will at least remain an invaluable resource and a place for answers to your questions.
Alienati is Latin for The Alienated. People with HFA feel like aliens living on the wrong planet... alienated from those they perceive as "normal"... isolating themselves from those who don't understand them because there are things they just can't explain no matter how hard they might try until they reach the point of exhaustion and just give up. You are not alone. The truth is out there. The Alienati Report will find it.
Stay tuned for more transmissions...
